There is £6 billion worth of London 2012 contracts. Of the contracts awarded so far two thirds have been given to SME businesses. And 46% of the contracts have been given to companies outside of London. The steel framework for the Stadium is provided by a company in Wigan and the seating by a Huddersfield business.
To date only a small number of Hertfordshire companies have registered with the online procurement system - CompeteFor.
To apply for contracts listed on CompeteFor you simply complete a
pre-qualification questionnaire and publish your business profile. You can also search for other suppliers with whom you may wish to partner. Once registered with CompeteFor businesses will automatically receive news of future tender opportunities.
In such a tough economic climate business opportunities are very welcome and already contracts have been offered to Hertfordshire based businesses.
